Great American Smokeout --- November 20, 2008
Approximately 43.4 million (or one in five) U.S. adults are current smokers, and smoking and exposure to tobacco smoke result in approximately 443,000 premature deaths in the United States annually. November 20, 2008, marks the American Cancer Society's 32nd annual Great American Smokeout, an event that encourages smokers to quit for at least 1 day (in the hope that this might challenge them to stop using tobacco permanently) and that raises awareness of the many effective ways to quit for good. WWHEL
WWHEL (Wisconsin Women in Higher Education Leadership) provides opportunities for networking, information sharing and support for women in leadership and encourages women faculty and staff to pursue leadership positions. International Education News

Foreign Language Class Offered
In Spring 2009, a two-credit German I course will be offered on Tuesday evenings. The class is designed to teach basic conversational German. Business Management and Human Resources Management students who are planning on participating in the May, 2009 Student Internship Exchange are required to take this course. Other students and staff who are interested in increasing their foreign language skills and/or traveling to Germany in the future and anyone who is working or planning on working in a global business situation are highly encouraged to take this course. The catalog number is #10-802-104 and the class number is #23853. The class will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6pm-8:15pm on the Cleveland campus.
