Career Counseling Services

Career Counseling Services are available on campus to assist students in identifying an appropriate college program that will best meet their interests, abilities, and values and to apply those attributes to the World of Work.

Choosing a career is a multi-step process which takes time and patience. It is an investment in you. To make an informed decision it is important to gather as much information as possible. This can be done by:

  • Completing a career assessment and
  • Doing occupational research such as job shadowing and informational interviewing.

LTC uses WISCareers and the assessments used are based on John L. Holland’s Holland Occupational Themes (RIASEC), a theory of careers and vocational choices based upon personality types. WISCareers also offers a Work Skills Inventory, Work Values Inventory and Transferable Work Skills Inventory. And it is all FREE—it only requires a Student Registration Code.
