Q: What is the RN to EMT Transition course?

A: This course covers techniques and procedures teaching current Nurses to become Emergency Medical Technicians. Completion of this course permits individuals to challenge the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Basic exam and upon passing, obtain licensure in Wisconsin as EMT. This course is an excellent educational opportunity for nurses wishing to obtain knowledge of pre-hospital care. This course is offered in a face to face delivery format at LTC Cleveland.

Nurse to Paramedic:

Q: What is the Nurse to Paramedic Transition?

A: Completion of this training will allow a registered nurse with EMT licensure to sit for the National Registry of EMTs Paramedic exam. Upon successful completion of this exam, State of Wisconsin Paramedic licensure may be obtained. This class includes didactic, skills lab, hospital clinical experience and ambulance ride-along. Health, immunization, and personal backgrounds will be verified prior to the start of any clinical experiences. The didactic portion of the class is on-campus lecture at LTC's Cleveland Campus from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
