CLEVELAND, WI –

Four students represented Lakeshore Technical College's Supply Chain Management club at the recent APICS Association for Operations Management International Conference held Oct. 4-6 in Toronto, Canada.

"The conference provided students an excellent opportunity to learn and created awareness of the quality educational opportunities that exist at Lakeshore Technical College in Supply Chain Management," said LTC Supply Chain Management Instructor Steve Redmer. "The instructors and administration are extremely proud of the fine representation that these students gave at this outstanding international conference. We look forward to engaging more students at this prestigious conference in the future."

Two of the student representatives — Tom McCabe and Jesse Hardrath — were among the 80 students in the United States and Canada who were awarded a special scholar invitation to the conference. This extended their opportunities to include a leadership workshop and special networking session held the day before the official conference.

A third LTC student, Steve Hutchins, finished 12th out of 60 participants in the Head of the Class competition, which tested the students' knowledge of supply chain concepts.

The fourth LTC representative was John Roehrig.

The conference offered many opportunities to enhance attendees' understanding of supply chain concepts, principles and strategies through three days of educational sessions. The conference also confirmed and validated for the students all topics of study in LTC's Supply Chain Management program, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Master Scheduling, coordinating with suppliers and customers, and networking to build resources of knowledge.
