LTC offers wind turbine access and rescue training seminar in March

CLEVELAND, WI – 

Lakeshore Technical College is offering a Wind Turbine SAFER Program at the Cleveland campus. SAFER stands for “Safe: Access, Fall protection, Evacuation, and Rescue.”

The seminar will be held March 20 and 21 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is recommended for individuals who work at height on wind turbines and need a method of rescue and evacuation.

The program will focus on wind power generation, including industry specific case studies, fall protection systems, and regulations.

Participants will learn to identify and assess industry hazards and implement control measures to provide a SAFER working environment.

Participants also will perform a variety of hands-on exercises from equipment inspections to actual rescue scenarios using LTC's High Angle Rescue Training Tower and Outdoor Wind Lab.

All participants who successfully complete training will receive certification valid for two years.
