CLEVELAND, WI —
Lakeshore Technical College is offering a Ground School Private Pilot continuing education course beginning in March.
Classes will be held at LTC's Cleveland campus Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. beginning March 5 through May 7 with no class on March 26.
The nine week course will include one Saturday session at the Manitowoc Airport learning about various types of aircraft and their systems along with airport operations and one session touring the Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control facility and airport control tower at Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay.
Participants will be introduced to topics â€“ including regulations, aerodynamics, systems, navigation and weather â€“ required by the FAA for the private pilot written test.
Participants will earn 0.9 continuing education credit for completing the course. The instructor is Curt Drumm, president of Lakeshore Aviation, Manitowoc.
The class number is 25246. The class fee is $109.21 with an additional cost of approximately $200 for a private pilot kit, which includes a textbook, a test preparation book and software, maps, a plotter and a calculator.
