FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLEVELAND, WI —
Cleveland – Lakeshore Technical College is offering firearms training courses for the community. People of all skill levels who want to learn to handle their firearms better have a chance to do so at these classes.
The first class being offered is a Pistol Marksmanship course on Saturday, October 12 from 8am-noon at the Manitowoc Sheriff's Department Indoor Range, 1025 South 9th Street, Manitowoc.
This class is designed for students who already have a Wisconsin Concealed Carry Weapons permit and wish to learn how to draw and fire a pistol quickly and accurately from a holster and at conversational distances. The class will also prepare the student by demonstrating several drills the student can and should perform regularly with an unloaded firearm. After students are performing the drills safely with an unloaded firearm the class will progress to a “live-fire” segment in which the same drills will be performed shooting live ammunition. This class can and should be taken as many times as are needed to gain proficiency and comfort.
Participants in this class must bring a quality made handgun of a caliber that may be comfortably fired 300 times in a two-hour time frame (magnum calibers, magnum ammunition, or +P ammunition is not recommended).  The cost of this class is $129 which includes the indoor range fee.
The second class being offered is the Firearm Safety for Concealed Carry Weapons course which will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 8am – noon at Lakeshore Technical College in the Public Safety Building.Â
Participants will learn the basics of firearm safety and state requirements for carrying a concealed weapon. The course also provides an overview of handgun safety practices, but is designed as a firearm safety course. The class meets Wisconsin’s education requirements for acquiring a state permit to carry concealed weapons. The cost for this class is $75.
