LTC Named to National List for Top Online Colleges





Lakeshore Technical College has been named among the nation’s top 100 online colleges for the 2014 academic year by

LTC was 35th on the two-year college list and one of three from Wisconsin. Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College was 39th and Moraine Park Technical College was 46th.

According to the publication, criteria for the ranking included only four-year and two-year colleges that offer at least one fully online degree. Statistics from the National Center for Education were also used to evaluate the online college programs. The list was then judged against four criteria:

  • Acceptance rate of first-time, undergraduate students admitted to the college out of all who applied. LTC’s acceptance rate was 100%.
  • Retention rate of first-time, undergraduate students who completed their first year and returned the following year. LTC’s Retention rate was 74%.
  • Graduation rate of full-time, first-time students who graduated from the programs. LTC’s graduation rate is 40%.
  • Enrollment rate of students admitted into the college who then actually enrolled, indicating the college is within the top choices for those students. LTC measurements for this category were not provided by

Lakeshore Technical College offers three professional degree programs that are 100% online, business management, marketing, and medical billing and coding. In addition to these three offerings, the college hosts 59 degree programs and 51 certificate training modules that may be ‘blended’ to include online and classroom-based coursework, or exclusively brick-and-mortar. The college also offers 11 trade-based apprenticeships.
