CLEVELAND, WI —
Lakeshore Technical College is offering a new series of free presentations for anyone interested in seeking ideas and inspiration to start or grow their own business. All of the meetings are held from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Lakeshore Technical College, Cleveland Campus in the Cleveland Training Room and are sponsored by Lakeshore Technical College Center for Entrepreneurship, Progress Lakeshore, Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce, and Sheboygan Economic Development Corporation.
The first meeting will be held Monday, September 15, 2014 and the topic will be: â€œFinal Act of Ownershipâ€ presented by Jerry Baltus, Owner of Baltus Group, franchise of AdviCoach, Author. Baltus will educate participants on how they can find a buyer who will nurture and continue the legacy theyâ€™ve begun. Baltus will also discuss the value building factors, how to find buyers, how to discover a successful sales process and all the emotions to expect as you enter into your final act of ownership. This meeting will also be beneficial for anyone thinking about buying a business as they will have the opportunity to learn about the process from a sellerâ€™s point of view.
The second meeting will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 with the topic being: â€œWhatâ€™s New in Patent and Trademark Lawâ€ presented by Mandy Tran Garrels, of The Law Office Mandy Tran Garrels, LLC. Knowing how to identify promising ideas and patentable matter is critical for staying ahead and avoiding loss to competitors in this fast paced instant market. Participants will learn how to develop their IP portfolio side by side with the stages of growth in their company as well as find out how recent changes in U.S. law is affecting corporate approach to business innovation and protection.
Inventors, entrepreneurs, students, start-ups, business owners, and all interested area residents are encouraged to attend this new fall 2014 series.
