LTC to offer professional development seminars in March and April




Lakeshore Technical College is offering two separate seminars focusing on professional evelopment in March and April.


The first seminar being offered is Facilitation Fundamentals" and will take place on the Cleveland campus Friday, March 11 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Participants will learn practical facilitation techniques to elevate meeting management skills and achieve better results. Included are the basic principles of teamwork/team-building, clarifying team roles/responsibilities, meeting design and control, discussion skills, decision-making, action planning, and more.


The presenter for this seminar is Jane Birkholz, a Workforce Solutions Training Director, grant writer, and adjunct instructor at Lakeshore Technical College since 2009. Birkholz has experience in facilitation skills, meeting management, consensus, strategic planning, and quality management/planning. 


The cost of this seminar is $165 and includes lunch. The class number is 26006.


The second seminar being offered is "Train the Trainer" and will take place on the Cleveland Campus Friday, April 15 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This workshop will give all types of training tools to help create and deliver engaging, compelling workshops that will encourage trainees to come back for more. In this workshop you will examine training, facilitating, and presenting concepts. Participants will learn how to identify training needs, create an effective lesson plan that incorporates the range of learning preferences by creating an active, engaging learning environment. 


The presenter for this seminar is Nadine Schreiter, Director of Faculty Development for Lakeshore Technical College. Schreiter has 16+ years of experience in designing, developing and delivering successful education and training programs.
