LTC to Offer Electrical Continuing Education Seminars





Lakeshore Technical College is offering a series of electrical continuing education seminars in March and April.  Participants can take one or both of the seminars in the series.

The first seminar, Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Hazard, will be held on Tuesday, March 14 from 5:30-9:30pm.  This seminar will educate the learner about the safety hazards involved in working with or near electricity and will review the basics of electricity, discuss electrical terms, and identify methods that can be used to ensure proper operation of electrical equipment.  In addition, participants will examine the new industry standards for establishing safe practices to protect electrical workers from the hazards of shock, electrocution, arc flash, and arc blast and will learn how to apply them in the workplace.

This seminar will be held in the Manitowoc County Training Room on the Cleveland campus and the cost is $125.  This seminar has been approved for four hours of continuing education credit by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services for: Commercial Electrical Inspector, Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, and UDC-Electrical Inspector.  The class number is 21645.

The second seminar being offered is Electrical Code 2017 NEC Review.  This seminar will be held on Monday, April 3 from 5:30-8:30pm. In this seminar participants will review the revisions in the 2017 NEC that will have a direct impact on residential, commercial, and industrial installations and the corresponding additions, omissions and changes found in SPS 316. Participants are asked to bring their most recent code book to class. Otherwise, 2017 NEC books are available for purchase in the LTC Bookstore.

This class will be held in the Cleveland Training Room and the cost is $79.  The class number is 27419. This class is approved for 3 hours of continuing education credit by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services for all licensing categories.
