Lakeshore Technical College is offering a series of professional development seminars beginning in January. Participants can choose to register for all seminars in the series or register for individual seminars.
This four part Leadership Development series is designed to develop the leadership skills of leaders in every organization. Participants will gain the confidence and skills to take charge of their work area, lead their coworkers, and collaborate on new peer leadership approaches with the ability to apply those new skills in their workplace.
The first seminar in the series is “Leadership in Change Management.” Participants in this seminar will learn to analyze the changes taking place, communicate clearly the need for change and how it will impact the organization, and create management strategies and tactics to involve stakeholders in the change process. This seminar will be held on Friday, January 12 from 8:00am-noon. The class number is 22638.
The second seminar being offered is “Leadership in Project Management.” Participants will learn to utilize appropriate documentation and formats for project management, practice project management principles through a case study environment and cultivate capabilities in engaging project work in their organization. This seminar will be held on Friday, January 26 from 8:00am – noon. The class number is 22639.
The third seminar in the series is “Leadership in a VUCA World.” Participants in this seminar will gain an understanding of what VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) means to their organizations, contemplate various strategies and tactics to manage their organizations through VUCA circumstances and develop competencies to deal with situations that pose a threat. This seminar will be held on Friday, February 9 from 8:00am-noon. The class number is 22640.
The last seminar in the series is “Leadership within Generational Management.” This seminar will be held on Friday, February 23 from 8:00am-noon. Every day 10,000 Baby Boomers reach 65 years of age. As of 2025, 75% of the workforce will be millennials. In this seminar, participants will explore what this dynamic means for leadership within organizations. They will also develop leadership traits that all generations admire and expect, learn to analyze various behavioral norms for varying generations within the workplace, and create feedback skills that are critical for engaged, passionate, and retained talent in the workplace. The fee for all seminars is $125 and all seminars will be held in the Cleveland Training Room on the Cleveland campus.
