Selected Training Instructors

Doug Hamm
Doug Hamm, LTC Human Resource Administration instructor, has a significant background in production and operations management including 15 years of plant management experience in the automotive and building products industries. His area of expertise is continuous improvement and human resource management and motivation. Doug holds a Professional Human Resource Management credential along with his certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt and Design Dimensions International facilitator. He holds a master's degree in business administration.

John Hanson
John Hanson, LTC public safety instructor, has more than 18 years of experience in technical and management applications of workplace safety and emergency management. He teaches courses in occupational safety and health, 10/30 hour general industry certification, industrial and first responder emergency management, and hazardous waste site worker certification. John is a certified hazardous materials technician, and is a state-certified professional emergency manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in disaster and emergency management.

David Saunders
David has more than 24 years of experience in welding and fabrication. As an instructor in the LTC welding program, he teaches all classes offered in the welding program, including GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, welder's math, blueprint reading, and metallurgy. He also leads seminars and individualized courses customized for area industries. David holds certification through the American Welding Society as a welding educator and a welder.

Mitchell Schmidt
Mitchell is an instructor in the LTC welding program with more than 11 years of experience in welding and fabrication. He teaches all classes offered in the welding program, and has experience programming and operating robotic welding machines. He also leads seminars and individualized courses customized for area industry. Mitchell holds certification through the American Welding Society as a welder.

David Schwobe
David Schwobe teaches various electrical-related classes. He has 10 years of experience in a variety of industrial settings, from paper converting, CNC machining, paint, bake, and assembly to various renewable systems including wind and solar. He holds a master electrician certification for the state of Wisconsin has served an industrial electrical apprenticeship.

Brian Strebe
Brian is an instructor in the LTC welding program with more than 15 years of experience in welding and fabrication. He teaches all classes offered in the welding program, and leads seminars and individualized courses customized for area industry. Brian holds certification through the American Welding Society as a welding inspector, welding educator, and welder.

Wayne Whiting
Wayne Whiting has been an emergency response instructor in Public Safety at LTC for more than 27 years. He has taught individuals and teams from a large variety of industries and municipalities. Specialty teaching areas include HAZMAT and emergency response, incident command, confined space entry, fall protection, and rescue. Prior to joining LTC, he worked in industry in industrial hygiene and research & development. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology/chemistry, a master’s degree in environmental administration, and certifications as a medical technologist and environmental trainer.

Wade Wittmus
Wade Wittmus, Electro-Mechanical Instructor, has 15+ years teaching automation courses.  Wade specializes in PLC programming, specifically from Allen-Bradley, but does some basic programming with Siemens PLCs.  He teaches the SLC architecture along with the ControlLogix models.  He also teaches Touchscreens, Industrial Networks and Servo motion from Allen-Bradley.  Wade holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and has an MBA.
