What is Peer Tutoring?

When teaching alone does not meet your academic needs Peer Tutoring is one-on-one help in technical program courses. Always seek help from your instructor first but if additional assistance is needed, a peer tutor may help and it’s FREE for LTC students.

Who Can Request a Tutor?

Any student who is experiencing difficulties in a technical course may request a tutor. The instructor must agree with the need and approve the request.

What are the Benefits of using Peer Tutoring?

  • Gain confidence in class work and participation.
  • Increase your knowledge base; this will help you now and in the future.
  • Become an independent learner.

Peer tutoring is offered as a FREE service to LTC students and is one of several options a student should consider if experiencing academic difficulties in a program course. Peer tutors can provide the opportunity for students to obtain additional assistance needed to master course material. When feasible, some courses offer group tutoring.
