High School Articulation Agreements

Dual credit provides a high school student that opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. Lakeshore Technical College collaborates with local school districts to offer courses at the high schools through articulation agreements. There are two types of articulation agreements, each containing specific teacher qualifications and policies.

Transcripted Credit: Courses are taught by certified high school teachers using Lakeshore curriculum. High school teachers are required to complete an application, submit supplemental materials, and receive approval to teach the course. Students enrolled in transcripted credit courses must achieve a C or better on Lakeshore’s grading scale in order to gain post-secondary credit.

Advanced Standing: Courses are taught by high school teachers using high school curriculum that is a close match with an Lakeshore course. In order for a course to be approved as advanced standing, about 80% of the course curriculum must align. Students must complete the course with a “B” or better and enroll in a WTCS program and/or coursework in order to be granted advanced standing status. Advanced Standing courses are accepted up to 27 months after high school graduation.
