Preparation
CLEP exams reflect introductory college-level courses. Materials are available at libraries and bookstores. CLEP study materials may also be purchased directly from the College Board by visiting https://clep.collegeboard.org.
Fees
The total cost for each CLEP exam is $118. Prior to scheduling the CLEP exam, it will be necessary to pay the $95.00. Go to https://clep.collegeboard.org to set up an account, pay for the exam and receive a voucher number to bring along when you take the exam. A $25.00 administration fee is paid to Lakeshore with cash, check or credit card on the day of testing.
Students who can not afford the CLEP fee can take a prep course through Modern States to receive a voucher to pay for the test.

Schedule
CLEP testing is offered during the day at Lakeshore College Cleveland by appointment only. Please call 920.693.1184 to schedule an appointment.
Day of Test
Arrive 10 minutes early for check-in and present a government-issued identification. The ID must be valid and current, must bear the test-taker's full name in English language characters, and must contain a photograph and signature. You are not allowed to bring food, books, papers, calculators, listening devices, cell phones or electronic devices into the testing room. Pencils and scratch paper will be provided. If your exam requires a calculator, the testing software will provide it on your computer screen.
Scores and Transcripts
You will receive your score and score report immediately upon completion of the exam. If you score at or above the minimum score requirement, Lakeshore will grant credit for the course. Scores will be kept on file at CLEP for 20 years and transcripts can be requested calling 800.257.9558.
Retest
Retakes are allowed after a three-month waiting period.
Taking CLEP for Another College
We do accept requests for CLEP testing for other colleges. Each college sets its own policy regarding which CLEP exams it will grant credit for and how many credits it will award. Be sure to check with your college's CLEP policy. When you take the exam, you can request a copy of your score report be sent to the college you are attending or plan to attend.
Military Personnel
CLEP exams may be funded by the U.S. government through the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES). Please visit https://clep.collegeboard.org or contact DANTES at 850.452.1063 for questions regarding eligibility for DANTES-funded CLEP exams.
Veterans
Depending on your benefits election, some veterans can claim full reimbursement for CLEP exams and exam administration fees. For more information, please visit https://clep.collegeboard.org/military/veterans.
