100% of Lakeshore Technical College Radiography & Medical Assistant Grads Pass Certification Exams

CLEVELAND, WI —

Graduates of Lakeshore Technical College’s radiography and medical assistant programs are passing their certification exams at rates of 100% -- well above national averages – helping them all secure employment. 

Nine recent graduates of Lakeshore Technical College’s radiography program recently took and passed their American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exams. Six medical assistant program graduates passed their Certified Medical Assistant-American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA-AAMA) exams. 

All the graduates have secured employment. The majority are working in the Lakeshore district with employers including Advocate Aurora, HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital, and Holy Family Memorial/Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin.

“We know local healthcare providers are depending on our students graduating, passing their certification exams, and helping fill workforce gaps,” said Lakeshore’s Associate Dean of Nursing Lori Hertel. “We are extremely proud of the success these graduates are already achieving, as well as the high quality of instruction and support provided to them by our faculty and staff.”

Since 2018, national pass rates for the radiography exam have ranged from 83.8% to 89.4%. Lakeshore graduate pass rates during that time ranged from 91.7% to 100%. 

Since 2018, national pass rates for medical assistant certification have ranged from 60% to 64%. Lakeshore graduate pass rates during that time ranged from 80% to 100%.

According to Lakeshore’s most recent survey, the median salary for its radiography graduates was $57,196. The median salary for its medical assistant graduates was $39,309.
