Lakeshore College Students Receive Record Amount In Scholarships

Nearly $300,000 in scholarships was awarded by the Lakeshore College Foundation to 273 students for the fall semester. This includes a record number of 54 scholarships covering full tuition and fees. A total of 360 scholarships were awarded.

College, Candy, & Costumes Returns to Lakeshore College

Lakeshore area families are invited to College, Candy, & Costumes, a free Halloween celebration taking place Saturday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. to noon, on Lakeshore College’s Cleveland campus.
The third annual event offers trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, and refreshments including apple cider and popcorn.

Lakeshore College unveiled its new mobile manufacturing lab Oct. 1, making advanced manufacturing training more accessible throughout the community. The state-of-the-art self-contained training space is available to any organization interested in providing or demonstrating hands-on manufacturing-focused training. Lakeshore provides the instructors.

Gov. Evers Appoints Lakeshore College Student to the Higher Educational Aids Board

Gov. Tony Evers has appointed Lakeshore College student Sandra Higher to a three-year term on the Higher Educational Aids Board. The Higher Educational Aids Board is the agency responsible for the management and oversight of the student financial aid system for Wisconsin residents attending institutions of higher education. Hyer will serve as one of 12 members appointed by Evers.

New Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Center for Health Care Excellence Celebrates Opening at Lakeshore College

Lakeshore College hosted a ribbon-cutting celebration marking the opening of its new Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Center for Health Care Excellence on Friday, Sept. 6. The 26,000 square foot health care instructional facility doubles Lakeshore’s potential annual training capacity to 1,500 in-demand health care and emergency services students.

The public is invited to celebrate the completion of Lakeshore College’s new Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Center for Health Care Excellence. A Sept. 6, 10:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on the college’s Cleveland campus, 1290 North Ave. Tours, demonstrations, and lunch will follow.

Carlsen to Co-Chair National Commission on Small and Rural Colleges

Lakeshore Technical College President Dr. Paul Carlsen has been named by the American Association of Community Colleges as co-chair of its Small and Rural Colleges Commission for the 2024-25 term. The AACC is a national advocacy organization representing more than 1,000 two-year community colleges across the country that serve nearly 12 million students. The commission will offer advice and counsel on trends and issues impacting small and rural colleges, as well as highlight innovative practices in those colleges that can serve as models for other institutions.

Nearly 500 Vollrath Employees to Benefit from Lakeshore Technical College Training

The Vollrath Company is partnering with Lakeshore Technical College’s Workforce Solutions division to provide 479 employees with 700 hours of training supported through a Workforce Advancement Training grant.
