Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) has been awarded a competitive Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) program grant to support student-parents who are facing obstacles to successful program completion. The four-year $30,000 grant will support child care fee assistance, holistic support for child care selection, CCAMPIS case coordination for recipients, and funding for educational and family enrichment activities.

A new, state-of-the-art culinary arts learning environment opened August 24 on the Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) Cleveland campus. Instruction had been taking place at a Sheboygan facility since 2012 when the program launched.

In pre-pandemic times, the Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) Foundation would typically award 150 scholarships for the fall semester. Since the pandemic hit, student needs have been exceeding normal demands and the foundation has stepped up by providing scholarship funds to a record number of 585 students enrolled for fall.

To address the growing concern Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) is reporting among its students who are parents of school age children, it has received state approval to expand capacity at its on-site Child Care Center starting Monday, August 24. This new accommodation provides drop-in care for children ages 7-12 so their parents can continue attending classes on campus if their child’s school is closed.

Lakeshore Technical College is the 20^th court reporting and captioning program in the nation to join Project Steno in its efforts to raise awareness of the profession. The programs are overseen by Barbi Galarno, LTC’s Judicial Reporting and Broadcast Captioning Instructor. Galarno is also a Certified Reporting Instructor and Registered Professional Reporter.
