Lakeshore Technical College District Board Swears Members In and Elects Officers

CLEVELAND, WI —

The Lakeshore Technical College Board of Trustees swore in two new board members and one incumbent board member who began their terms at the board’s annual organizational meeting July 12. The Board of Trustees also elected officers for the next term.

LTC has an appointed board consisting of nine members: two employer members, two employee members, three additional members, one elected official member who holds a state or local office, and one school district administrator. Three members are appointed to the LTC Board of Trustees each year by a committee comprised of the county board chairs of the counties making up the Lakeshore district: Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Calumet, and Ozaukee. Terms for the three board members sworn in July 12 expire June 30, 2024.   
Curt Brauer, business representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494, serves as an employee member. He leads strategic planning efforts to communicate organizational priorities and mobilizes stakeholders to advocate for labor-friendly legislation on the local, state, and federal levels. He is also a Sheboygan County board supervisor and a Habitat for Humanity Lakeside board member. 

Belinda Esquinas, executive director for The Crossing of Manitowoc County, serves as an employer member. The Crossing of Manitowoc County is a non-profit organization with a mission to offer life-affirming help to individuals facing unplanned pregnancies. Esquinas’ responsibilities include administration, fundraising, community relations, client service, and staff supervision. She holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Cordoba, Spain. Esquinas also serves as a board member for Manitowoc Noon Rotary and as pastor at Connection Church in Manitowoc.

Dr. Mike Trimberger, superintendent for the Random Lake School District, will continue serving as the school district administrator member. He holds a doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Trimberger is president and co-founder of INSPIRE Sheboygan County and a member of the Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce Business Education Partnership.

Board officers elected for 2021-22 are Don Pohlman, chair, John Wyatt, vice chair, and Kim Rooney, secretary/treasurer.
