Lakeshore College Students Receive Record Amount In Scholarships

Nearly $300,000 in scholarships was awarded by the Lakeshore College Foundation to 273 students for the fall semester. This includes a record number of 54 scholarships covering full tuition and fees. A total of 360 scholarships were awarded.

“We are excited to announce that 50% of Lakeshore College students who applied for fall scholarships received at least one scholarship,” said Vice President of Institutional Advancement Kristy Liphart, who oversees the Lakeshore Foundation. “We anticipate awarding another $200,000 for the spring semester, so encourage students to apply now.”

According to Liphart, the record value of awards resulted from donors daily seeing the impact of a Lakeshore College education and choosing to support the college’s efforts. Scholarships supported students seeking degrees to become nurses, auto maintenance technicians, software developers, dental assistants, police officers, welders, and many other professions Liphart notes are valued by the local community.

Current Lakeshore students can apply for spring semester Lakeshore College Foundation scholarships through the AwardSpring app on their MyLakeshore dashboard. The deadline to apply is Nov. 15.
