LTC’s Tanya Boettcher Selected as ACT State Champion

CLEVELAND, WI —
Lakeshore Technical College Career Coach Tanya Boettcher has been selected as the Wisconsin ACT College and Career Readiness Postsecondary Champion by ACT, a national non-profit organization known for its college and career readiness assessments.
The College and Career Readiness Postsecondary Champion is a person who excels at assisting individuals in navigating their education and career journeys. One Champion in each state is selected annually.
Boettcher advises and recruits prospective new and transfer students by addressing individual concerns, exploring their interests, and identifying career opportunities that can meet their goals. She also assists them regarding credit transfers, program options, and job placement opportunities.
The average age of an LTC student is 25, and 86 percent of students attend part-time. This means Tanya primarily works with adult students who are balancing work and family responsibilities with college, while facing uncertainty about their education path and their academic readiness. Tanya is notably a champion in serving these students. As a certified Career Development Facilitator, she takes a proactive coaching approach to assist students in preparing to enter the best LTC program for them.
