CLEVELAND, WI —

Lakeshore Technical College’s annual Manufacturing Rocks event is set for Tuesday, October 27, 4 to 7 pm, at the college’s Cleveland campus. The event features an open house highlighting 18 programs that can lead to essential careers in manufacturing environments, ranging from mechanical computer-aided drafting (CAD) to administrative professional. Also featured will be Lakeshore’s annual “Sparks” welding competition where $1,500 in scholarships will be awarded to future welding program students.

Professionals, including Lakeshore instructors, will demonstrate their areas of expertise and answer questions about their career paths. Admission advisors will be available to answer questions about paying for college, on- and off-campus learning options, placement rates, the application process, and dual credit and youth apprenticeship opportunities.

Attendees must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Those under 18 years of age will be required to complete an event release form signed by a parent or guardian.

Registration for the welding competition is required prior to the event. Registration for the open house is requested, though not required, by October 23. For event details and to register, visit gotoltc.edu/manufacturing-month.

All attendees will receive a free t-shirt. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place, including the wearing of masks indoors and practicing physical distancing by staying at least six feet away from others anywhere on campus. Attendees are asked to bring their own masks.
