CLEVELAND, WI —
According to PracticalNursing.org, which analyzed all practical nursing programs in the state, the practical nursing program at Lakeshore Technical College is the best in Wisconsin. Lakeshore received a perfect score of 100 based on an analysis of first-time licensing exam pass rates over the last three years, the number of students taking the exam, and the number of years pass rate data was available.
“This top ranking was earned by our dedicated, hardworking students and instructors,” said Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen. “We are extremely proud to provide our community with the highly qualified graduates needed to help fill the growing demand for licensed practical nurses, as well as other nursing professionals.”
To become an LPN in Wisconsin, individuals must complete a state-approved practical nursing program and pass the required National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses. According to PracticalNursing.org, the average statewide NCLEX-PN pass rate in 2022 was 92.3%. Lakeshore’s pass rate was 100%.
The Board of Commissioners for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) granted continuing accreditation to Lakeshore’s practical nursing program earlier this year. At that time, the ACEN board recognized the NCLEX-PN pass rate among the college’s practical nursing graduates as an “outstanding achievement.”
