CLEVELAND, WI —
Lakeshore Technical College has named two new deans. Rachel Kroeplien is dean of applied technology and economic development. Chris Schatz is dean of health and human services, a role he previously held from 2017 to 2021.
Kroeplien joined Lakeshore in 2015 as an agriculture instructor. In 2020 she moved into the role of senior flexible instructional design coordinator. Her achievements include creating the first online agriculture-focused associate degree in the Wisconsin Technical College System, earning the Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators Outstanding Post-Secondary Agricultural Program nomination in 2018, and leading Lakeshore’s competency-based education initiative. Kroeplien is pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership.
Schatz’s accomplishments at Lakeshore include leading efforts with area high schools and healthcare facilities to provide opportunities for students to take college-level healthcare courses. He also led Lakeshore’s initiative with the University of Wisconsin Green Bay to offer a 2-2-1 nursing pathway, which allows students to complete three academic degrees while learning locally and saving on tuition and expenses. Schatz holds a doctorate in higher education leadership.
