CLEVELAND, WI —

Lakeshore Technical College is hosting events for individuals who would be “first-generation students,” a term referring to individuals who would be among the first in their families to earn a college degree.

Lakeshore’s Sheboygan campus, 1320 Niagara Ave., will host an event Monday, November 6, noon-1 p.m. Lakeshore’s Manitowoc campus, 600 York St., will host the same event Thursday, November 16, noon-1 p.m.

Participants are invited to meet and learn from a panel of individuals who are current first-generation students at Lakeshore. Topics to be addressed include how to communicate educational plans to family, how to choose what to study, apply for admission, select classes, and pay for college. Panel members and Lakeshore staff will also answer questions.

There is no charge to attend the event. Lunch will be provided and registration is encouraged. Details and registration are available at gotoltc.edu/be-the-first.
