Lakeshore Technical College Student Attends National Competition, Wins 3 2nd-Place Awards

CLEVELAND, WI —

Nathan Buschmann wore a winning smile while winding down his days as a student in the accounting program at Lakeshore Technical College. Buschmann won three second-place awards at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference held in Dallas May 4-7. The events he competed included Advanced College Accounting, Business Law and Ethics, and Managerial Accounting.

Buschmann graduated May 21 with an associate degree in accounting and a 4.0 GPA, which earned him presidential honors. He will continue his education in fall at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he will major in accounting.

While at Lakeshore, Buschmann was an active member of the Lakeshore Chapter of BPA. At the organization’s Wisconsin Leadership Conference held in February, Buschmann placed first in the three events, earning him the trip to Dallas. He also placed first in three events at the 2021 national conference.

“Nathan has exceptional ability to grasp accounting concepts, apply them accordingly and produce accurate and superior results,” said Lakeshore Accounting Instructor and BPA Club Advisor Julie Meyer. “He is always willing to help others, is a positive student and has contributed many valuable moments within the classroom.” 

Buschmann, who lives in Manitowoc, is a 2019 Roncalli High School graduate.
