LTC Announces Engineering Transfer Agreement with UW-Oshkosh

CLEVELAND, WI —

Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh have signed a transfer agreement effective July 1, 2019 allowing students studying mechanical engineering to save money and time. The agreement allows students who successfully complete the Associate of Applied Science degree in mechanical design and engineering technology at LTC to transfer their credits when they enroll in the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mechanical engineering technology at UW-Oshkosh.

“This agreement is possible because of the high quality instruction LTC offers and the extremely close alignment our mechanical design and engineering technology program has with UW-Oshkosh’s mechanical engineering technology program,” said LTC Vice President of Instruction James Lemerond. “One in three LTC graduates continue their education, so we are very excited to be an affordable and convenient starting point for area students interested in mechanical engineering.”

Students who choose to earn their degree at LTC and then transfer to UW-Oshkosh can expect to save nearly $6,000 in tuition and fees alone. They will also avoid retaking courses that would not transfer, reducing the time it takes to earn a bachelor’s degree.

LTC students will be required to meet standard UW-Oshkosh admission and graduation requirements.

Mechanical design technicians are highly skilled in using Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) software to construct and review engineering related drawings used to develop and test products. They also determine appropriate materials and parts for products, and work on teams that focus on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts.
