CLEVELAND, WI —

A “Women Power – IT Coders” interactive, free educational event is being hosted by Lakeshore Technical College on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at the LTC Sheboygan campus. Women of high school age and older are encouraged to get a close-up look at this high-paying information technology career.

LTC IT Instructor Sarah Bornemann will lead this event along with LTC Instructor Paul Hoffman.

“Coders are in demand today, and there’s no reason why women can’t be just as skilled in coding as men, if not better,” Bornemann says. “The number of women in the IT web and software development field is quite low in comparison to men. This three hour session will give women the opportunity to see what coding is, and how enjoyable and rewarding the career can be.”

Participants will learn how to determine if IT is a good fit for them, develop a web project by tapping their critical thinking skills, and discover career opportunities in web and software development.
