LTC to Offer PLC and Touchscreen Seminars

CLEVELAND, WI —

Lakeshore Technical College is offering new, short-term, hands-on seminars for individuals interested in learning and sharpening skills with ControlLogix (CLX) and Touchscreen programming. Learn aspects of programming, troubleshooting and design to bring your knowledge and skills to the next level.

ControlLogix (CLX) for SLC Users, is designed for individuals who have a good understanding of how to program SLC processors but now want to understand the CLX processors and how to program them.  The seminar will discuss memory and project organization of ControlLogix controllers as well as tag based addressing. The seminar will also cover bit-based instructions, timers, counters, math/compare instructions and sequencer instructions. Lab experience will include designing programs in the RSLogix 5000 environment, downloading the programs to ControlLogix workstation, then test and troubleshoot the programs. The seminar runs March 13, 14, 15 from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. The class number is 26431.

ControlLogix Programming Introduction, is designed for individuals who want a basic understanding of how to program a PLC. This seminar will be done utilizing ControlLogix controllers and RSLogix 5000 software. Students will learn about basic PLC hardware and how to do rudimentary troubleshooting using the hardware. Students will also learn how to create a PLC program, download it to a ControlLogix processor, monitor the program and troubleshoot the program. Students will become familiar with bit-level instructions, timers and counter instructions. Recommended taking prior to Touchscreens  Introduction class. This seminar runs May 15, 16, 17 from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. The class number is 26432.

Touchscreens Introduction, is designed for individuals who want a basic understanding of how to program a touchscreen. This seminar will be done utilizing ControlLogix controllers and FactoryTalk View ME software. Students need to have a basic understanding of programming CLX processors. Students will learn how to create a touchscreen application, connect it to a CLX controller and download the application to a PanelView Plus touchscreen. Students will learn to create interactive display objects, animate objects and create trend objects. ControlLogix Programming – Introduction is recommended prior to this class. This seminar runs June 5, 6, 7 from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. The class number is 40488.
