LTC Offers Credit for Prior Learning for Military Veterans

CLEVELAND, WI —
Lakeshore Technical College now offers credit for prior learning for military veterans. Student veterans may be able to obtain credit for prior learning in two ways.
LTC may grant credit for military service training based upon the recommendations provided by the American Council of Education (ACE). ACE evaluates all military courses and occupations, and recommends the amounts and categories of credit.
Student veterans can also earn credit based on years of service. In order to be eligible, service members and veterans must submit documentation proving years of service. Upon review, students may be eligible for three credits if they served less than three years, and up to nine credits if they served three years or more.
“LTC is proud of our student veterans,” said Paul Carlsen, LTC president. “These initiatives reward and acknowledge veteran experience and service to our country and, where applicable, provide credit for their prior learning, saving them time and money.”
LTC offers credit for prior learning for most programs. All students, including student veterans, can earn credit for prior learning experience including on-the-job experience, academic coursework, and certifications.
