Dr. Alise Coen 

Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Public & Environmental Affairs Unit at the
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

Dr. Alise Coen

Dr. Alise Coen is Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Public & Environmental Affairs Unit
at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where she also teaches in the Global Studies and Criminal Justice
programs. Her research focuses on migration, refugees, human rights, global politics, and foreign policy. Her
articles have recently appeared in academic journals such as International Affairs, International Relations,
Ethics & International Affairs, Politics & Religion, and The International Journal of Human Rights. Her
book, Reconfiguring Refugees
, is forthcoming from NYU Press. 

Dr. Coen received her Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Delaware. She
received her B.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University. While earning her graduate degree, she
conducted field research in Egypt and worked with the State Department’s Middle East Partnership Initiative Student
Leaders Program.
