Resources for Working Adults
If you’re looking to balance your job with college, Lakeshore has options to help make college work for you. Whether you’re concerned about affording college or how it will fit with your schedule; or succeeding in your coursework after being out of school for some time, Lakeshore is ready to help.
Convenient scheduling
Our evening and online classes help you fit college into your busy schedule. Our accelerated programs build on experience you bring to the classroom and condense traditional course schedules, allowing you to complete your associate degree in 2 ½ years when you attend class one night a week, or take classes online. We call it Flex.Ability and we designed these programs especially for you. Explore Lakeshore FlexAbility programs now.
Credit for prior learning
Be sure to discuss with your counselor any previous higher-education credits you may have earned, and your work experience. Lakeshore’s credit for prior learning program may help you get a head start on the credits needed for your Lakeshore degree.
Individualized Technical Studies
The ITS-Individual Technical Studies associate degree program is designed for working adults with unique backgrounds and educational needs. You have the option to create your own associate degree program and will work with an occupational mentor, an educational advisor, a program counselor, and college faculty to design an academically-sound program that incorporates your individual goals and experiences with Lakeshore coursework.
Paying for college
Nearly every applicant qualifies for some sort of financial aid. Lakeshore also offers scholarships through the Lakeshore College Foundation and other resources. Learn more on our website about financial aid, including an early aid estimator to help determine your eligibility for financial assistance.
